Avengers: Doomsday Star Channing Tatum Says Movie Will Include Moments 50 Times Bigger Than When Wesley Snipes' Blade Turned Up in Deadpool & Wolverine

Marvel star Channing Tatum says Avengers: Doomsday will manage to beat the surprises seen in past MCU films, and top the shock value of Wesley Snipes' Blade appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine by a factor of 50.

Tatum, who co-starred alongside Snipes, will reprise his role as Gambit in next year's Avengers: Doomsday, which has now wrapped its principal photography.

Speaking to ET Online, Tatum was quizzed on what fans can expect from the upcoming movie, as Marvel's largest cast yet collide for multiversal shenanigans and a highly-anticipated meeting with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. In response, it's safe to say that Tatum sounded hyped.

"[Marvel] set a bar for themselves every movie and they beat it every single movie," Tatum said. "And I can tell you this: as I was reading I was like, 'How are they going to do this?! I don't know how they're going to do this.' You're just not ready.

"It's gonna make your brains ooze out of your ears, like in the way I knew when Blade walks on screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, people are going to physically lose their actual minds. It's that but maybe times 50. It's just gonna be one of them things. And just the story... I can't divulge anything but as a comic fan, you just aren't ready."

Amusingly, Tatum was then asked by the interviewer to divulge who the biggest troublemaker was on set, with the actor starting to say a name that sounded a lot like it began with the letter "D..." before stopping himself. "I can't say," he laughed.

Fan expectation for Avengers: Doomsday is already through the roof, after numerous set leaks and casting whispers (thanks, Alan Cumming) that have spilled costume designs (and a look at Franklin the baby), unannounced cameos, and potentially the top-secret return of a pair of past Avengers stars.

Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters on December 18, 2026, before Marvel has to top that with Avengers: Secret Wars, which arrives a year later on December 17, 2027.
